Permaculture Workshop Series at Butte College

Oroville, Calif. The Butte College Associated Students' Sustainability Resource Center (SRC) has again invited Rosa Maicas founder of non-profit, Perma-fun-k to host a series of permaculture workshops. Workshops are ongoing between March 5 and April 16, 2015. All workshops will be hosted at the Butte College Chico Center in the A.S. Student Lounge on 2320 Forest Ave., Chico in room 146 from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Workshops are free to Butte College students and staff but request a $5 -$10 donation from the community.

Permaculture is an eco-design science that uses deep observation, mimicking natural systems and applying them to human systems such as: education, economy, agriculture and lifestyle.

Rosa Maicas is a certified permaculture designer and is the founder of the educational non-profit Perma-fun-k. Perma-fun-k offers classes, hands-on permaculture workshops & Permaculture Design Certificate's in California and Spain.

March 5: Introduction to Permaculture
March 12: Urban Homesteading Permaculture: Design Principles and Analysis
March 26: Forest Ecology and Agroforestry
April 2: Soil Ecology and Microbiology
April 9: Permaculture Design Methods and Pattern Recognition
April 16: Permaculture Design Methods and Design Process, Tools and Mapping

The Associated Students' Sustainability Resource Center is a place for students, staff and faculty to further educate themselves on sustainability issues and become involved in the efforts at Butte College, the community and beyond.
