Dr. Perry Selected As President Of Bellingham Technical College In Washington

-- Bellingham Technical College (BTC) Board of Trustees has selected Dr. Kimberly Perry to serve as the next president of Bellingham Technical College. She will assume her position at BTC on July 20.

Dr. Kim PerrySince July of 2011, Dr. Perry has served as the Superintendent/President of Butte-Glenn Community College district, in California's Sierra Nevada foothills. Her previous position was as the Vice President of Academic Affairs at Los Angeles City College. Prior to that position she served six years as the Vice President of Instruction at Reedley College in Reedley, CA. Her tenure at Reedley College began as a Dean of Instruction with responsibilities in the areas of Career Technical Education, the International Student Exchange Program and state and federal grants dealing with workforce development. Dr. Perry began her career in education as a high school agriculture and natural resources instructor in Fremont, CA.

Dr. Perry received her Ed.D. from the University of the Pacific, Stockton, CA, and her master's from University of California, Davis. She also has a rich history of lecturing, including: California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo in Agricultural Education and as a continuing education specialist for University of California, Davis University Extension. Her career technical education experience includes: Specialist in Agricultural and Natural Resources at the California Community College Chancellor's Office; the California State Biotechnology Economic Development Network Director; and the Vocational Education Services Dean at the California Community College Chancellor's Office. In addition, for eight years she was the Executive Director of the National Postsecondary Agricultural Student Organization, an organization affiliated with the National FFA Organization.

"In addition, the feedback we received from the faculty and staff at the campus forums was equally vital to our deliberations. We feel confident that Dr. Perry understands the college's needs, mission, and vision and is the best choice to lead BTC."
